Gary BraVard, of A Classic Party Rental, has 30 years of experience in the event industry; needless to say, he has plenty of top shelf tips and tricks to make your guests saying “OMG” as they sample your delicious food or notice your impeccable attention to detail.

First, Gary thinks your guest should have 3 OMG experiences before they leave your party. Pay attention to what their traffic patterns will be and as they turn corners in your home, there should be a “wow factor” lurking. The wow factor can either be a floral arrangement, food display, or anything creative, such as an old fashioned popcorn cart (if it’s appropriate with your theme).

Next, people need a beverage (alcoholic or non) as soon as they walk in the door. People feel more comfortable with a drink in their hand.

Last but certainly not least, bold colors, patterns, and textures in linens, glassware, and china will visually stimulate your guests without adding extra money to your budget.

Remember, sensory stimulation is key; people experience things with their senses… make sure the aromas are flowing (and the drinks), the temperature is comfortable, and the food is delicious.

Planning Tips

Pick a date. Summer might be the only time available for some families, and it usually is the best season, because you can have your reunion outdoors and under a tent to keep everyone cool and in the shade; while having room to plan for other activities outside of the tent.
Make sure you pick a private location, so everyone can relax and be themselves, while also proving a safe place for the tent and accessories from vandalism.
Next you should form a budget, so you are not charging family to come and enjoy each others company.
Always make sure you know how many people to plan for, and who is doing the food.

Grilling is a great and effortless route for planning a simple, but delicious menu. Make sure you have a grill which can accommodate feeding a large group of people at one time. Simple menu ideas include: Easy Beverages, Appetizers, Salads, grilled main courses, and don’t forget your desserts to end the day on a sweet note.
One last essential are the rental items:tables, chairs, linens and decorations. Make sure you have enough tables and chairs to provide seating for everyone. Having a few extra chairs is always a good idea; this will also encourage movement and mingling within the group.
An inexpensive decoration that you should not go with out are table linens. Proper table linens for the casual outdoors can transform your event into any theme imaginable.

Tip: If you are going to rent a tent, please place your rental order as soon as possible. Tents are in extremely high commodity over the summer, so to ensure that a tent will be available, you will need to inquire asap.

4th of July Ideas

I love 4th of July celebrations! What’s not to love? Hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, sunshine, lakes, and great friends and family. A Classic has everything you might need to make a memorable 4th of July holiday. You can rent red, white, and blue tablecloths, white chairs, and all of the service equipment you might need.

You can buy tons of cheap decorations anywhere, but why not show your family and friends how much you care by putting time and thought into your tablescape. David Reilich designed the tablescape pictured, using purchased linen and A Classic’s flatware, glassware, and napkins. David’s design is classic and elegant. He used darker traditional 4th of July colors to create a richer look. By adding apples to the centerpiece, an American tradition is easily tied in at a low cost and is edible. If it is a formal dinner, name cards are a great touch. David cut out a star shape to use as his name card, providing more texture. One final and unexpected touch, is our natural stain chairs. Although the rental chairs are not foraml, they fit perfectly with the theme.

Don’t know much about tents? Our tent experts will walk you through every step along the way. We will create diagrams, give sample swatches for linens, and ease the stress that weddings tend to cause every bride AND her mother! Tent weddings require more planning and renting, but with A Classic you won’t have to worry a thing.

Colored Folding Chairs

A Classic now offers colored folding chairs in royal blue, red, Lt. pink, and brown. They are perfect for graduation parties (IU and Butler). These vibrant rental chairs will not only work for graduation parties, but will add pizazz to kid’s parties or outdoor parties! Ja’Rell and Zsarenet met in high school and have loved each other from day one. For 13 years they have been each others best friend and support system. Zsarent’s is designing her dream wedding to be modern with Tiffany blue and mocha as her accent colors. She will be at A Classic on May 17th to choose her favorite three table settings! We can’t wait to help her pick out her chair covers or chiavari chairs, linens, etc.!

A Classic teamed up with Fox 59 and other vendors in the area to Give Away a Dream Wedding to the most deserving couple. Voters get to choose the bride’s dress, ring, and table settings! Check the Fox 59 website to help choose the dress you think the bride should wear!

Timeless Wedding Tablescape

Enflora Flowers for Business designed beautiful tablescapes for our last open house of the season. Customers are awed at the sight of the timeless tablescape pictured above...It actually seems like a tourist attraction with people taking pictures and circling around it.

Enflora mixed in a little trend by using lamps, which are very in style this year, but managed to maintain its traditional feel. This tablescape could be used for events other than weddings..Christmas, formal birthdays, engagement parties, etc.

Many have already tried to copy several of the tables using the same color schemes, napkins, or mirrors as chargers to mimic the “CoCo Channel” table. I absolutely fell in love with the large bows (made out of fabric batting) on the back of the crystal chiavari chairs!! Loran Hilton, of Enflora, really outdid himself!
